Help Barack Obama reach an unprecedented 125,000 donations since the start of 2008. Over the past three weeks or so Obama supporters have worked tirelessly to bring new support to the campaign. The original goal set by the campaign was 100,000. That was crushed a few days ago. Now, with nearly 6500 new donations coming in every day, it is time to break through the goal of 125,000.
With around 24 hours to go and under 10,000 donations left I know we can accomplish this tremendous task. I myself gave my first $50 donation today, and it felt great! The campaign has set up a program where donors are matched with another donor. They can share their reasons for supporting Senator Obama as well as keep in contact through email. It's truly a wonderful experience to chat with another supporter. So please, be part of this evergrowing movement!
The count sits at: 115,401

Great endorsement for Obama, California, and the Hispanic community!
Los Angeles, CA - Congresswoman Linda Sanchez today endorsed Barack Obama for President and released the following statement:
"After much consideration, I am excited to endorse Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for President. In a talented field, Barack Obama stands out as the best candidate to deliver the change that America desperately needs."
"Since I began serving in Congress five years ago, I have seen the difficulty in bringing fresh ideas to Washington, DC, and to our country. Sadly, great talent and ideas are too often dismissed because those who possessed them were seen as too idealistic, too young, or too unwilling to submit to the same old Washington way of doing things. Senator Obama is the candidate who can change that culture by mobilizing a new generation to get involved in the civic life of our country. He is reinvigorating America by showing us that we all have a stake -- and a say -- in our democracy and our country's future."
"America faces economic and foreign policy challenges so great that no single person or group of political insiders can solve them. We need to change that. Barack Obama has already shown he can deliver by bringing people together."
"Throughout my career, both before, and in, Congress, I have fought for working families like my own. Families who are working hard, yet still struggling to make ends meet, need a president who knows their struggle. I believe that with Barack Obama, they will have a president that doesn't just understand the difficulties they face, but will stand up and fight for them."
"In the coming days and weeks, I will be talking with my fellow Californians about why I think it's important we vote for Barack Obama on February 5. Beyond that, I look forward to a future of working with President Obama to deliver the change America needs."
Congresswoman Sanchez is serving in her third term representing California's 39th Congressional District which includes parts of Los Angeles, Long Beach, and other communities in Los Angeles County. Sanchez is the co-founder of the House Labor and Working Families Caucus, and she serves on both the Education and Labor Committee as well as the Foreign Affairs Committee. She is the first Latina to serve on the House Judiciary Committee. Prior to coming to Congress, Sanchez served as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer for the Orange County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.
Not only do the Clinton's want to bar thousands of registered voters from caucusing (of course, only after Obama wins the endorsement)...but Bill Clinton lies about their reasoning.
First, he says that those caucus locations would recieve 6X more power than other caucus locations. This is complete hogwash, and bravo for the local reporters to showcase his lies.
Second, he states that the campaign and everyone else for that matter didn't "know" about that part of the agreement when it was approved by both the Nevada Democrats and the DNC. Whoops...come to find out that everyone did know exactly what the changes would be.
Good to see that the DNC is also in opposition to this lawsuit. It's a cheap, arrogant way to disenfranchise thousands of voters. The Clinton's should be ashamed of themselves.
Watch the video:
Bottom line, Clinton is nowhere near as strong a general election candidate as Obama would be. She consistantly polls 8-20 points lower than Obama against every candidate. In fact, in the Hotline/FD poll Clinton loses to McCain.
Romney vs. Clinton (Rasmussen): Clinton +6
Romney vs. Obama (Rasmussen): Obama +12
McCain vs. Obama (Hotline/FD): Obama +2
McCain vs. Clinton (Hotline/FD): McCain +4
Huckabee vs. Obama (Hotline/FD): Obama +23
Huckabee vs. Clinton (Hotline/FD): Clinton +9
Romney vs. Obama (Hotline/FD): Obama +30
Romney vs. Clinton (Hotline/FD): Clinton +12
Giuliani vs. Obama (Hotline/FD): Obama +21
Giuliani vs. Clinton (Hotline/FD): Clinton +10
I don't understand this. Why are Michigan "delegates" being included in the delegate counter? No matter how much MyDD likes to pretend they are going to count, the fact remains that the DNC has made it very clear they are not and will not be counted. Furthermore, even if they are counted the Uncommitted delegates can be given to a candidate and thus the total delegates in MI will be all but halved.
All in all I this it is rather childish for these nonexistant delegates to be included in a delegate count, and misconstrues the true results.
Earlier you posted the following:
Update [2008-1-15 21:11:49 by Jerome Armstrong]: At above 60 percent, Clinton blows away the expectations in Michigan; with a majority of Democrats supporting her candidacy-- breaking the majority being a big psychological barrier/boost.
Now that these comments have turned out to be bogus, isn't it time for a retraction?
With 94% of the votes counted, the Uncommitted vote is not at 40%, while the Clinton vote is at 55%. Not exactly "blowing away" expectations, eh?
BTW, there were comments earlier on MSNBC that many counties had issues with the Uncommitted vote not being counted. Looking over county data, it appears that counties with thousands of total votes didn't have a single vote for Uncommitted. That seems proposterous.
So if it is indeed true that (1) many uncommitted votes were not counted, (2) voter turnout was incredible low, and (3) the Clinton vote was well below 60%...that is a huge victory for Obama and Edwards.
Great news for Obama with another big name endorsement for Obama...and another superdelegate.
OMAHA, NE - Nebraska's Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) today endorsed Barack Obama for President, citing Obama's ability to bridge the partisan divide and to carry Democratic candidates across the country to victory in 2008.
"Those of us on both sides of the aisle who have made it our purpose to set aside partisanship to address some of the important issues of the day want a president that will join the effort, not foil it. Barack Obama, to me, represents the best hope for our own political reconciliation and a future where the cogs of government are working smoothly for progress instead of being gummed up by partisanship," said Senator Nelson. "Barack Obama will be the strongest candidate in the heartland, because he puts solutions and consensus fist and he inspires great crossover appeal among Republicans and independents."
